Pros and cons arguments
- First you set the topic. Be as specific as possible when defining so that the arguments can be exchanged in a targeted manner.
- Each participant is asked to collect arguments for and against. There should be no limitation or restraint here.
- In addition, you can consider measures to counteract the arguments against. Ask what it would take to refute the counter-argument. Make sure that suggestions remain realistic.
Description of the pros and cons of argumentation
It’s a simple and well-known way to get an overview of the pros and cons of a given topic. The topic can be defined very flexibly: a product, a new feature, a statement, a suggestion, etc. After the arguments have been exchanged, decisions can then be weighed up, measures taken or improvements made. As part of the ConWISE template, measures can be recorded by the participants directly afterwards.
The pros and cons argumentation is a simple analysis tool to quickly find a solution or to validate decisions.

Limits of Application
If the team is too biased or too enthusiastic about a topic, certain aspects can quickly be overlooked. The moderator should always take a critical stance on this and consciously encourage new perspectives. Or additional participants are added. This is easily possible on ConWISE with the session lead.
